Information
Assignments
If your pathfinder wants to be active in the club, he or she should expect to participate fully in classwork and honors. There is a good deal of reading. Developing a lifelong growing relationship with Christ is central to the pathfinder ministry, so please encourage your pathfinder to complete assigned readings from the Bible, Ellen White books, and other books and magazines. You may wish to read the Bible selections to your pathfinder during family worships.
The classwork meetings are designed to cover most of the requirements, including fun honors and practical activities. Check our club's class webpages or your pathfinder's notebook to find what should be done each month to receive the class pins and honor patches at investiture. If your child is absent and wishes to complete the class year, please check what he or she missed and complete this at home.
Please Check the appropriate page for your child's class work.
Pathfinder make sure you keep up to date to check your progress
Conduct
To affirm good conduct and consistently positive behavior, points are awarded at all meetings and events, as follows:
Glad you came 1
In unit on time 1
Brought notebook 1
Due classwork completed 1
Wearing correct uniform 1
Neat and clean 1
Respectful 1
Tried with positive attitude 1
Finished activities assigned 1
Conduct aligned to pledge and law 1
TOTAL POINTS PER MEETING/EVENT/CAMP 10
As attendance at all required events is important to complete the pathfinder class curriculum, we strongly encourage regular attendance. All 10 points are lost if an absence is unexcused, so parents, please help your pathfinder learn responsibility by emailing or calling the deputy in charge of his/her class with an explanation for any absence.
Recognition & Reward
The Pathfinder with the highest points in each class will receive a Pathfinder of the Year award at Investiture. Pathfinders with 85-100% of the points possible are awarded a Good Conduct bar (first year) or star (pinned onto this bar each year thereafter), at the annual Investiture June. The goal is to nurture Christian character development. Every member is welcomed and encouraged to do their best, regardless of points. The point value is confidential and never mentioned in public.
Extra Honors and Classwork
Additional honors and classwork may be completed outside of club meetings. Honor requirements, worksheets and online resources are available through our honors webpage. Patches may be purchased for honors or classwork when a club staff member sees that all requirements are done, for 55c each.

Financial Support
Saskatoon Central Seventh Day Adventist church provides an annual budget that supports staff training and building maintenance. Offerings and donations provide scholarships. Fund raising supports large camporee expenses. Every member raises his/her own club fees of $80 or $50 depending on whether they are new or not. $40 due at registration. $40 due in January. This covers expenses for class meetings, 2 camps, honors supplies and equipment, and outreach/service projects. Make checks payable to Saskatoon Central SDA Church. Uniforms cost $50 when joining.
Fees for previous pathfinders
If you and your child are ready to make the commitment to pathfinders, but cannot afford the dues or uniform fees now, please contact the club director directly. We are committed to making this ministry available to every junior and teen who is ready to participate fully, and will divide scholarship monies between all applicants for assistance, and connect you with options for pathfinders to earn their fees.
